Arrowsmith Academy
MacMan says: The children are our future. So are computers.
The Mac laboratory at Arrowsmith Academy needed help. With 107 high school students, 18 iMacs, and no technical expertise on staff, MacMan walked into what we like to call a "hot zone". Missing roller balls. Disc drives with the optical lasers popped out. Machines in need of system and software upgrades.
The first order of business was to get things stabilized and running properly. MacMan sprung into action. Optical mice, the latest software, standardized system configurations in every computer: MacMan brought the works. Changing their Internet connection from ISDN to DSL and enlisting a company to donate and install a professional network, bringing internet to the entire school.
Nowadays, after five years of working with Arrowsmith, MacMan provided help in implementing Power School, a software package made by Apple, that is a web-based database that allows parents access to students records in real time, creating tight feedback loops between parents, students, and teachers.
Teach them well. Let them lead the way. It's beautiful.
